This was a very well developed concept and I loved the idea of a sportier version of the classic Birkenstock sandal.
I found this to be an intriguing alternative.

I find it to be the most compelling initiative because it elevated a simple, everyday product into a sophisticated, technical one.
I’d love to see it live!

Using recycled skateboards to create shoe outsoles is not only visually appealing but also showcases a commitment to sustainability. The blend of reclaimed wood with leather elements adds a unique texture and aesthetic, making the product stand out. However, while the idea is intriguing, it would have been beneficial to see more concept drawings and thorough testing to fully validate the design and functionality. Despite this, the final product features beautiful lines and looks fantastic when worn by models, highlighting its potential appeal.

The concept of blending the classic Oxford shoe design with the sleekness of athletic footwear through 3D printing is an innovative approach that combines tradition with modern technology. By focusing on the simplicity of materials and design, this concept creates a versatile shoe that balances tradition with innovation. The streamlined construction and careful selection of materials ensure a comfortable fit without unnecessary complexity. This simplicity not only makes the shoe visually appealing but also enhances its practicality, making it a great choice for those seeking a modern twist on a classic style. The hybrid design carefully balances the rigidity often associated with printed footwear and the comfort expected from a professional shoe to ensure wearability throughout the day.

It’s a tough decision, but I’ll give the edge to this entry. It aligns well with some of the bold shapes Balenciaga is known for, yet the choice of materials brings a refreshing sense of “newness” that I really appreciate.
