Heel design inspired by the techno clubbing scene. Made with leather using the "plugging" technique to create 3d shapes. The leather was first split in half, strings forming circular shapes were glued on the bottom layer and then covered with the top layer. This means the leather piece was whole once again but the strings trapped between the two layers would create a 3d effect (img1). The heel also has a ribbed cotton sock attached (img2) and a handmade and hand-polished clear acrylic platform (img3). The shoe was entirely handmade and sewn by myself using the facilities at the school.

Bio
I am an 20 years old footwear designer from France. My passion for footwear started when I was in high school, it started with customizing shoes for fun until I felt the need to create something from scratch. I did my research and fell in love with it. I self-taught myself how to sketch, render, pattern making, sew, etc... and eventually applied for the footwear design course at the London College of Fashion. On the 18th of July 2021, I released my first pair of sneakers with Clints Inc as part of the Inspire Change Initiative contest. Hopefully, it will be the first of many
