Over the course of the isolation I have come to appreciate how the metamorphosis a butterfly goes through in its cycle of life can be a powerful metaphor for our own lives. It is only once we are willing to take a step back and disappear into isolation, like the caterpillar, that the real remarkable changes in our lives can occur, in our character, goals, ambitions, mental and emotional well being, the list goes on. The key point of this stage is to slow down and observe the importance of time in the process of healing and growth, a caterpillar doesn’t turn into a butterfly overnight.

Swar Sahgal is an innovator and creative that specializes in sneaker customization, design, and construction. His passion for footwear and innovation has led him to work with a plethora of material options, allowing him to exercise his perspective on the greater questions in his life through footwear and the greater fashion industry. As a creative that struggles to open up, Swar uses his craft as a tool to let the world in on his internal dialogue.
